Doom: The Dark Ages hits PC and consoles on May 15 (or May 13 if you're willing to pay extra). While the game's first trailer didn't reveal much in the way of...anything, we got a better look at its gameplay via outlets like IGN, who got to play a demo version. Now, Bethesda stealthily dropped a second trailer that shows us more.
The new Doom: The Dark Ages trailer gives us our first look at the game's antagonist and what looks to be their shadowy controller, who we might have to fight as an end-game boss. Additionally, the Doom Slayer appears to be under the Makyrs' control initially, after which he is sent as a one-man reinforcement to aid the Sentinels in true "You can't shoot a hole into the surface of Mars" fashion.
Rounding off, we get to see the Atlan mech making short work of Titans and the dragon in action. It culminates with a shot of the BFG in action, but instead of a futuristic gun, its Cell was shot out of a janky looking crossbow. Doom: The Dark Ages takes the franchise in an entirely new direction with its "Stand and Fight" motto, making it a top contender for Game of the Year.
And we also get a peek into what Doom: The Dark Ages' soundtrack has in store. While it is a shame that Mick Gordon isn't developing it, Finishing Move Inc. has done a decent job so far in keeping the original theme alive with its Djent-dubstep undertones.
